I’ve tried foodspotting. It is the instagram for food. But that’s not what people want when they want to find a place to eat, review or catalogue their food adventures. If you tried to use Instagram (which I do now) or Foodspotting when trying new places to eat, you feel forced to take the pic of the food when it comes, comment, upload and then actually start enjoying the food. Every time for every dish. It’s stressful, especially when everyone else is waiting to eat a whole array that has just been served.

That’s why I was so pleased that Forkly came out. I tried it and the flow just works. You list the items you’re ordering at a place, and take the pics (with any camera app) of the dishes when they come. You then finish your food FIRST, and when you’re done with the meal, you turn to your Forkly app, look through the list you already keyed in, load the pics you took from your camera roll and then rate them after the meal. You don’t have to pick your favourites to post because the idea is to list your ratings good or bad, and this helps you establish “tastes”.

The only problem? Forkly needs Twitter. And I don’t know many people who use Twitter, only Facebook.
